Evan began volunteering at Mary’s Place since he was six and always wanted to find a meaningful way to continue his work with Mary’s Place. Teaming up with his childhood friend Benton they set out to help improve access to computer science education and began teaching classes at Mary’s Place and have since expanded the program across Seattle and into other states.
Evan is the director and co-founder of KidzCoding, he oversees all of our sites and programs and taught well computer science classes at Mary’s Place FDC before leaving for college. Evan has been volunteering at Mary’s Place since he was six years old and has a passion for helping people learn to code. Outside of KidzCoding Evan enjoys playing tennis, swimming and works as a Lead Lifeguard. Evan is a current student at the University of Pennslyvania where he studies business and hopes to teach computer science classes at local community organizations.
Benton is the assistant director and co-founder of KidzCoding. Benton oversaw our Seattle programs, and taught classes at various Mary’s Place locations and mentored other volunteers in their teaching. He has been coding since he was 10 years old, and he wants to share his passion with others. Benton is a student athlete at Carnegie Mellon where he studies Artifical Intelligence and kicks for their football team.
Mikaal is a Seattle Lead at KidzCoding. He oversees out operations in Seattle. He was a lead for our location at Mary’s Place Northshore and now teaches classes at Mary’s Place Bellevue. He works with Mary’s place to cordinate classes. Additionally, he teaches weekend classes at Mary’s Place Bellevue and makes lesson plans for various locations. He is inspired to create opportunities and make coding more accessible for the next generation.
Cole is a Seattle Lead for KidzCoding. He oversees our operations in Seattle and cordinates with Mary’s Place to organize lesson and teaches at Mary’s Place Bellevue. He has also produced many lesson plans featured on our website. Outside of coding he works as a lifeguard and enjoys playing tennis and waterpolo.
Aidan is a volunteer at our location at Mary’s Place Bellevue and volunteered at our STEM summer camp at Mary’s Place Bellevue. Outside of coding Aidan plays soccer and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
Kyle is KidzCoding’s Irvine Chapter Lead, which works with the Illumination Foundation. Kyle is also avid pianist, violinist, and composer who is also pursuing his interest in business.
Mayo Ou is KidzCoding’s Claremont Chapter Lead. In her free time, Mayo enjoys running with her friends for the cross-country and track teams at her school, pole-vaulting, learning about anything STEM, and reading books.
Henry Park is KidzCoding’s Chicago Chapter Lead which works with the Hanul Family Alliance. He is a student at Northwestern University. Outside of coding he enjoys exercising, playing violin and guitar, and trying new foods.
Matthew Lee is KidzCoding’s New York Lead. He manages our New York chapter which works with the Carver Center. Outside of coding he is also interested in biomedical engineering and competes in fencing and soccer.
Vivian Li is a volunteer at the KidzCoding Claremont Chapter. She has experimented in coding since she was little. In addition to computer science, she runs cross country, does backstage theater at CHS, and plays flute.
Isabelle Shie is a volunteer at the KidzCoding Claremont branch. She’s very excited to teach kids how to code and help them discover their love for computer science! In addition, she runs cross country, is a member of the CHS speech and debate team, and part of the school newspaper.
Sophie Hamilton is volunteer at the KidzCoding Claremont branch and a junior at Claremont High School. She loves doing puzzles and exploring the mysteries of science!
Amanda Lai a volunteer at the KidzCoding Claremont branch. She is a senior at Claremont High School in the IB Diploma Program. She is passionate about teaching and is excited to build her knowledge in coding. Her interests outside computer science includes orchestra, playing the piano, cross country, speech and debate and crocheting.
Harry Slade is KidzCoding’s creative director. He has created a unique design language for KidzCoding having designed all of the artwork featured across our media. He also makes graphic design and 3d art lesson plans. Outside of KidzCoding, Harry is an avid musician, artist and tennis player.
