Learn more about what makes KidzCoding special
We teach introductory coding classes to elementary through middle school aged children across all of our locations. Our goal is to provide computer science education to kids who would otherwise not have access to it.
We started with one Mary’s Place shelter, a Seattle-area homeless shelter network for families and women. We teach classes once every other week at their FDC, Northshore, and Bellevue locations to elementary through middle school-aged children. In addition, we ran a STEM summer camp at their Bellevue location. Given the program’s success, we are launching pop-ups at several other Mary’s Place locations including their Burien location, and are staffing-up to expand regular classes to these locations in the future.
Irvine:
We are working with the Illumination Foundation to provide weekend classes to kids at their locations.
Claremont:
We are working with CLASP in Claremont to provide weekend classes to kids that are apart of their after school programs.
We work with the Hanul Family Alliance, which provides community-based services to meet the needs of Korean-Americans. Our volunteers are integrating our weekend classes into their youth program, which we are helping relaunch.
We are currently exploring community partners to work with for our regular programing. We have plans to work with the Carver Center for summer programing.
